Daily local boats take the visitors to Delos island to visit the ruins of the Classical temples, including among others houses with mosaics, the ancient theatre and the museum with the famous lions. There, you may get to know the sacred nymphs of the island, called Deliades, about whom the famous ancient poet Callimachus wrote in his “Hymn to Delos”: “Child Apollo leapt forth, and Deliades, offspring of an ancient river, sang the holy song”.
